WALLAMAN FALLS

Highlights: A waterfall…
8/10! It is truly incredible seeing Australia’s largest single drop waterfall at a whopping 268m. It’s no wonder it sees 100,000 people each year. It is located 2hrs inland from Townsville or 4hrs from Cairns within the Girringun National Park.
Honestly, the only reason I couldn’t give it 10/10 is because the hike down to the bottom of the fall is not WC friendly at all, in fact you need to be in fairly good fitness to do the 4km walk which takes between 1-2 hrs. We took 1.5hrs. It is straight down and straight up and very humid the closer to the bottom you get. It’s an adventure getting down there but the view from the top is most spectacular and 100% worth the time to go and see. We were certainly in awe when we saw it. There are 2 lookouts so you can see it from 2 different angles, both WC friendly. There is also a bathroom there which is accessible. It isn’t a disabled bathroom, but much like the ones on Moreton (hint hint go read it if you haven’t), they are large, so plenty of room for a WC and a ramp up to them. Sorry team, I dropped the ball and didn’t take my bathroom photo. Can I say I was too excited to see the waterfall?? Trust me though, the waterfall is worth it and the bathroom comes in at a close second.
Nice short one this time. If you have any questions or recommendations, hit me up on my Insta.
